Manifesto.

Art is an architecture of life.
It holds meaning, memory and connection.

Art challenges perception.
It expands how we see, how we feel, how we understand the world.

Culture is not a privilege — it is a right.
It is the living fabric of communities, the quiet — and sometimes not so quiet — force shaping new futures.

Art is devotion.
Art is resistance.
Art is possibility.

Art matters.

About the Director.

Hi, I’m Megan — a driven and strategic creative leader with over 20 years’ experience across independent arts, creative industries, and arts management. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, I’ve built my career on a belief that art matters and transforms. I work with artists, organisations and communities to design frameworks, programs and strategies that generate cultural impact and bring ideas to life. I am most alive when curating contemporary arts experiences that connect deeply with audiences, or collaborating with artists to realise their vision and articulate their value.

My background includes producing independent contemporary performance in Melbourne with artists including Jo Lloyd, Shelley Lasica and Natalie Cursio; eight years with Elision Contemporary Music Ensemble touring major festivals in Australia and internationally; 15 years in fashion events with Melbourne Fashion Festival, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and major brands; a decade producing and styling for advertising photography; and over 10 years in cultural leadership with local government in Victoria and Queensland.

I am currently Creative Sector Development Lead at Sunshine Coast Council, director of Habitus and a committee member of New North, an artist-run initiative. My focus is on building creative ecosystems and transformative cultural initiatives, particularly in regional contexts.
